I-CAT™ IMAGING

The i-CAT offers many advantages over a standard 2D x-ray. For one thing, the iCAT can expand to focus on small areas and rotate the image to give us different views of the bones, teeth, nasal passages, and more. This imaging option allows us to consider the issues from all angles which leads us to identify problems not otherwise seen and to treat them with greater accuracy. The i-CAT scanner is multi-purpose because its usage capabilities go beyond dental evaluations. For example, we can start the scan at the nose and end it at the throat, this would give us the ability to evaluate the airway. This level of scanning is a dream for treating certain orthodontic cases, such as when a blocked nasal passage which contributes to a narrow maxilla.

iTERO INTRAORAL SCANNERS

iTero scanners work by emitting a laser or light through your mouth to generate a 3D model of your mouth which replaces the messy impressions of the past. Today, the iTero features a compact wand that can create accurate 3D models of your mouth and dental structures including the farthest molars.

With the innovative Smart Pixel Sensor the dynamic depth scan technology for perfect sharpness, even in up to 20mm depth. Ability to transfer impressions to labs and other third parties are supplied with high resolution models at an instant. Easy scanning of all dental materials and hard to access areas: The increased field of view visualizes larger areas with less sweeps and immediate precision Choose between a variety of three different sleeves – including autoclavable and disposable sleeves Consolidating more than 50.000 images per second and fast processing of exactly the data the software needs Movable 16:9 touchscreen and touchpad for perfect ergonomics

WHAT MAKES I-CAT DIFFERENT

This detailed airway scan also serves to allow us to craft sleep apnea treatments. For those who cannot or do not want to use a CPAP (continuous positive airway pressure) machine, an i-CAT scan will enable us to produce an oral appliance that gives you an alternative treatment. If we scan your maxillofacial regions using i-CAT for sleep apnea and other problems, then we may take some of the following steps:
  • After we have scanned the airway and nasal structures, we will determine if there is enough room in these areas by viewing the image on i-CAT’s TxSTUDIO software.
  • Rotate the scan to measure the dimensions and diameter of the posterior nasal pharynx and airway passage from multiple angles.
  • Take a close look at the nasal passage in order to determine its importance in overall airway diagnostics.

How Do iTero Intraoral Scanners Work?

iTero scanners work by emitting a laser or light through your mouth to generate a 3D model of your mouth which replaces the messy impressions of the past. Today, the iTero features a compact wand that can create accurate 3D models of your mouth and dental structures including the farthest molars.

iTero scanners also feature the ability to perform real-time simulations. This allows the patient to watch the creation of their dental impression as the wand moves through your mouth. The simulation allows you to visualize the entire treatment process and provide your feedback based on what you see. All other scans can be forwarded to our dental lab for fabrication of the costume made intraoral and sleep appliances.
